I have always wanted to go to St Petersburg. Last week I got the chance when I flew out to film footage for FIFA at the preliminary draw for the 2018 World Cup.I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a beautiful place, less heavy than Moscow which I visited a few years ago. It reminded me a bit of Amsterdam with all its canals. We filmed the draw, as well as some behind the scenes footage for the opening ceremony and lots of press spots. We spent most of our time in the Constantine Palace but on the day we flew home, I woke up at dawn to explore the city on foot. I would love to return one day with more time to explore properly.
